Fan Expo 2012: Stan Lee Q&A Conference

Easily one of the best moments of Fan Expo was being in attendance for the Stan Lee panel. There's only a few people you can truly call iconic. But when it comes to comics, Stan Lee fits the mould. Having never met the man, it was a bit surprising to hear him as candid as he was. Check out the clip above to hear him discuss several topics ranging from how he got his pen name to how he got into the business.

Fan Expo 2012: 1on1 with Halo 4 Canadian Debut

To find what was perhaps the most popular venue at this year's Fan Expo, you'd have to walk all the way to the far back corner of the Metro Convention Centre in Toronto. But for many, just to say they were one of the first to play Halo 4 a couple of months before anyone else in the country, that journey and wait was well worth it.

1on1 caught up with Paul Patinios, Marketing Manager of Xbox Games to discuss one of the most highly anticipated games of 2012. Afterwards, we also managed to get a quick word from two players who finished at the top of their exclusive multiplayer session.

Fan Expo 2012: 1on1 with LG's Dual Play Technology

Not everyone has a video game tournament setup in their home, so what happens when you have friends over that want to hop on Call of Duty, Halo, or Battlefield? You go split screen. Well as soon as Kris and Jeff of 1on1 arrived at Fan Expo 2012, they were fortunate enough to get to talk to LG directly on how exactly they plan to change the multiplayer gaming community.

About 1on1

1on1 was founded in January of 2012 as a university and college campus online radio show. Until the end of the 2011-2012 school year, hosts Kris Cuaresma and Jeff Budgell could be both heard and watched online at www.riotradio.ca.

As a modest success, the duo decided to expand by covering a wider range of topics and increasing the staff and contributors size.

Batman and Robin Maybe?

With The Dark Knight Rises still having the ability to make you regret not watching it again instead of that other movie you decided to see last night, the Internet is still buzzing with Batman memes and videos galore.

Here's two videos that recently caught our eye, and another oldie but goodie in celebration of Nolan's contribution to the Batman universe.

WARNING: First video kind of contains spoilers, so stay away from it if you haven't seen TDKR.

Trailer Review: End of Watch (Red Band)

By Kris Cuaresma

I won't lie, I have a soft spot for the "found footage" genre. Regardless of how cheesy and brainless it turns out, it always manages to add that sense of realism that "regular" movies can never achieve. But like with any other genre, there are good and bad examples. For myself, I put films like the first Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity, Cloverfield, and Chronicle in that good category, mainly for trying a different approach on a genre that has been beaten to death.

End of Watch has a chance to be put into that group. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena, it tells the story of two LAPD cops who patrol one of the most dangerous areas of Los Angeles. This film has potential based on the fact that it boasts two of the higher profiled actors to ever be in a found footage film, and that its story involves an actual and realistic premise. Police normally document events, so that's one less thing to convince the audience of.

Trailer Breakdown:

The Good:
- The dry humour that's laced through the trailer. This isn't one of those "If you enjoy what you're doing, you never have to work a day in your life" kind of jobs, and the comic relief should be appropriate.
- Decapitation and knives through eyes? It's a red band trailer done right.
- The car chase sequence. Think of those "Craziest Police Chases" TV shows that everyone enjoys, then ramp it up 100 times.

The Bad
- The all out assault at 1:31. Was that Gyllenhaal and Pena getting lit up by bullets?
- The Call of Duty first person shooter POV camera.
- What looks like Pena in a fist fight while Gyllenhaal practices his video taking skills.

The We'll See
- The decision on the protagonist group/plot.
- The fact that we get found footage of members of the drug cartel.

End of Watch will be released on September 21, 2012.
